Burn and Trauma Care
Mykito Chitosan is the purest Non-Animal chitosan in the world. This chitosan does not have the betaglucins, heavy metals and other contaminants that are commonly found in chitosan. The Mykito technology is robust, repeatable and produces consistent results.
Burns and Trauma
Chitosan and its derivatives can help burn wounds and prevent and treat infections while improving its underlying regenerative process [Dai,Sanchez-Machado]. Its control over the physiological environment of wounds allows it to be an effective adjuvant for burn wounds of various thicknesses. It may also be used to deliver a stable source of growth factors and antimicrobial drugs to further assist the healing.

Wound Healing
Chitosan-containing hydrogels can be applied to wound care products to enhance the healing rate and quality of wounds and burns. Hydrogels provide a moist environment, while Chitosan stimulates healthy inflammatory processes to encourage healing and restoration of normal skin structure [Ribeiro,Alsarra].
Tissue Engineering
The addition of Chitosan onto existing 3D scaffolds, or purely Chitosan-based hydrogels, offers an effective surface to improve compatibility with blood and cells [Wang]. Chitosan’s plasticity allows it to be molded, printed, coated, and electro-spunned into different 3D structures/forms to accommodate different cell types and functions/tissues.
